Focus Group

Questions about our pitch.

Do you understand our narrative?
Can you relate to our protagonist?

Do you think the antagonist is mysterious?

Do you think the story has any plot holes?

Do you think the pitch controls enough suspense?

What improvements do you think we need to make?

Is this the type of thriller you would enjoy?

What age group do you think this pitch should be aimed at?

Does the thriller have enough enigma codes?

Does the pitch create a sense of equilibrium?

Our group found that the focus group liked our concept. However, they thought that we should make a few minor changes. They didn't like the drop off point that we thought up, they preferred the idea of a bush being the drop off point, rather than the bin. We have now decided to take the groups advice and revert to our original idea of the bush being the drop off point. Another thing that was recommended by the people in our focus group was to add a more mysterious output to the antagonist. They thought that the antagonist didn't create the right amount of suspense needed to capture an audience.

The boys you see in this focus group are aged 16-17, we chose this particular group of people because our film is based around this age group. We also believed that they could identify with the protagonist, giving the film an edge, also, this helps create sympathy for our protagonist, allowing the character to develop.

Our group decided to take the Focus Groups advice one step further, this was achieved by taking their advice on the score. They believed that the score we described sounded too cliche, we decided that a Niche score would suit our film better, due to the humble setting. However, with the score changes made we realised that the plot was a rather mainstream plot. Taking this into account we changed the score to a more fitting yet less cliche score.
